About Us The State Revenue Office is a Branch of the Department of Treasury and Finance. We are responsible for collecting State revenue used by the Tasmanian Government to fund essential services including hospitals, schools, roads and law and order. Our role is to: collect and administer state taxes; administer a number of grants, subsidies and rebates paid to Tasmanians; conduct audits to ensure all taxpayers pay the correct amount of tax; and provide advice and assistance to taxpayers about state taxation matters and, where required, take action to recover money owed to the State.
